🇮🇹 Italy Travel

Home » 🇮🇹 Italy Travel

Pasta, piazzas, and personal growth. Everything I’ve learned from traveling solo (and with company) in Italy.

Why Italy?

If you’ve ever dreamed of sipping espresso in a sun-drenched piazza, wandering into a centuries-old church by accident, or finally understanding the difference between gelato and ice cream, Italy is your place.

And, seriously, who hasn't dreamed of all that stuff?

I’ve solo-traveled through the big cities and little villages, with a carry-on bag and a “let’s see what happens” attitude. This page pulls together the places I visited, the lessons I learned, and all the info you need to plan your own Italian adventure with less stress and more Aperol.

🗺️ Where I’ve Been (So Far)

🇮🇹 Florence: My First-Timer’s Guide to the City of Art and Aperitivo

  • Where to stay, what to see, and what to do if your friend trips on the sidewalk and is whisked away in an ambulance!

🚋 Cinque Terre: My Whirlwind Journey Through Five Cliffside Villages

  • Train logistics, photography tips, and how to eat focaccia without dropping it on a trail.

🏖️ Monterosso: The Best Base in Cinque Terre? I Tested It

  • Where I stayed, how I liked it, and what you should know before booking a hotel near the beach.

🏛️ Rome Travel Hub: Must-Sees, Food Finds, and Personal Favorites

  • I’ve written so much about Rome it needed its own space. Click here for all my Rome posts in one place.

🚤 Venice in 2 Days: What to See, Skip, and Savor

  • Gondolas, spritzes, and a little too much cardio chasing the sunset. Two days in Venice taught me a lot, including how not to follow Google Maps near a canal.

✈️ Italy Travel Tips for Solo Women

  • Where to Stay:
I look for walkable areas, small hotels or B&Bs with charm, and hosts who won’t blink when I show up solo.
  • Getting Around:
Trains are usually easier than expected, but escalators are not guaranteed. Pack light. No, lighter than that.
  • What to Wear:
Think linen, sneakers, and confidence. Bonus if it looks good while eating spaghetti.
  • Safety & Comfort:
I never felt unsafe, but I always carried a crossbody, Google Maps, and a fake confident strut.
