The United Club Lounge at London Heathrow’s Terminal 2 is exactly what you need after wrestling your way through one of the busiest airports in the world. Once you’ve dodged the duty-free perfume spritzers and found your way to Terminal 2B, you’re rewarded with a calm, civilized corner to sip a coffee (or a glass of vodka, no judgment) before your flight. I filmed a quick video tour so you can see what it’s really like inside.

Open from: 5:00am–10:00pm
Access: Free if you’re flying United Polaris customers; Star Alliance Gold members and eligible United Club members can also visit select contract lounges. I have a Chase United Master Card which grants me 2 free club passes a year. Check here for current details from United.
How to get there: After security, follow the signs to the lounges in Terminal 2B. It’s not a short stroll, so give yourself time. You’ll get your steps in before you sit down with your drink, and you will probably be relatively close to your gate once you're in the lounge.
Highlights
- Buffet with hot and cold dishes (morning pastries and desserts in general were surprisingly good)
- Full-serve bar with complimentary wine, beer, and spirits
- Showers stocked with fluffy towels and decent toiletries (always a win)
- A mix of open seating and a few tucked-away nooks for solo travelers
- Some good views of the tarmac if you’re a plane-watcher
- Plenty of outlets and working spaces

If you’re flying out of Heathrow’s Terminal 2, this lounge is a good place to recharge, grab a snack, or just enjoy the smug satisfaction of not waiting at the crowded gate!
